Ask4 brings fibre broadband to Sheffield snuff mill

Tuesday, January 22nd 2013 by Miles Northrop
A key business development in Sheffield is set to benefit from super-fast broadband.

Westbrook Court is an ex-snuff mill and one of its tenants has enlisted super-fast fibre optic broadband provider Ask4 to provide a new high-speed connection.

Company 121 IT Services will benefit from a line that will be capable of speeds of around 100Mbps and beyond over the next 12 months.

Adrian Lane of 121 IT said: "Faster speeds and faster downloads mean that we can consume and share more information online than ever before.

"Thanks to fibre optic broadband, the future of the internet is both bright and speedy."

Ask4 business sales manager George Powell added that customers can benefit from increased stability because connections are routed through shared lines with neighbours and speeds remain consistent even during peak periods of the day. It also means that businesses will be able to make use of internet-based technology such as hosted VoIP.

Mr Powell also explained that offering an alternative to mass-market products reduces the possibly of a single point of failure.
