Broadband boost for homes in Lincolnshire

Superfast broadband networks are being introduced across Greater Lincolnshire.

Homes across Greater Lincolnshire are benefiting from the introduction of new broadband services, with more than 80,000 properties already connected to next-generation infrastructure.

The areas of East Ravendale, Beelsby and Aylesby have all witnessed the introduction of new broadband networks in recent months, while Tetney, Holton-le-Clay and Louth will all see similar improvements in the months ahead, Grimsby Telegraph reports.

Ray Oxby, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration and Skills at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: "Faster communications can help businesses by helping them to grow, prosper and ultimately create more jobs. It also improves the lives of local people who can enjoy faster browsing and downloading at home."

Now in phase six of the OnLincolnshire broadband rollout scheme, the local authority aims to ensure communities across the county will receive a boost to connectivity between April and September this year.

Overall, more than £9 million is being spent on new superfast broadband services across the county, with funding being provided by network operator BT, the European Regional Development Fund and local authorities.
