Tewkesbury businesses are being offered funding to improve their access to superfast broadband.

Businesses in Tewkesbury are being encouraged to make use of ongoing government grants to help bolster their access to superfast broadband.

Funds of up to £3,000 are being made available per business from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and local firms are now recommended to put in their applications, the Cotswold Journal reports.

Tewkesbury Borough Council's Economic and Community Development Manager Andy Sanders stated: "A high speed broadband connection can transform businesses, boosting productivity and innovation, enhancing communication and connections all of which ultimately lead to growth. This is great news for our area."

He added that the local authority will now be working in partnership with Gloucester City Council to ensure as many companies as possible across the region are able to achieve the benefits of next-generation online services.

The monies can be put towards all manner of improvements, ranging from installing new connections at home if this is the main place of work to increasing the speed of services to company premises.
