Broadband rollout for Ynysddu completed

The Superfast Cymru project has connected the village of Ynysddu to superfast broadband services.

The superfast fibre broadband network in Wales has now been extended to the village of Ynysddu, following a major investment in improved internet connectivity as part of the ongoing Superfast Cymru project.

The scheme is a collaboration between the Welsh Assembly Government, network operator BT, the UK government and the European Regional Development Fund, and has ambitious plans to bring improved superfast broadband capabilities to the vast majority of areas across Wales in the years ahead.

Indeed, Deputy Minister for Skills and Technology Julie James commented: "The Superfast Cymru programme is the most ambitious in the UK with the aim of reaching 96 per cent of properties in Wales by the end of spring 2016."

She added that it is therefore great news that the residents and businesses of Ynysddu are now benefiting from faster connections as part of the project, with impressive progress continuing to be made in communities up and down the country that have not had access to these superfast connections in the past.
