BT fibre optic broadband coming to Moylegrove?

The technology could be deployed in the Pembrokeshire village in the coming months.

Fibre optic broadband could be coming to a west Wales village after it performed strongly in BT's Race to Infinity.

Some 82 per cent of residents and businesses in Moylegrove, Pembrokeshire, voted in the initiative, reports the Western Telegraph, but the community is too small to have been considered as one of the winners of the scheme.

However, BT has pledged to engage with any parts of the UK that received votes from at least 75 per cent of locals with a view to potentially including them in future deployments of fibre optic cable broadband.

This is as a result of the hard work of campaigners such as Moylegrove resident Jonathan Guest, who commented: "We want to encourage people to get more out of their service."

He noted the village only got access to broadband back in 2006.

BT has said it will send more information by the end of the month to areas in which at least 75 per cent of locals voted in the Race to Infinity.
