CityFibre brings gigabit fibre broadband to Bournemouth businesses

Tuesday, August 6th 2013 by Paul France
Businesses in Bournemouth can now access gigabit-speed fibre broadband.

Broadband infrastructure provider CityFibre has launched gigabit-speed internet services in Bournemouth to allow businesses in the town to benefit from the next-generation technology.

The Internet Leased Line product boasts the ultimate in enterprise-grade connectivity, including almost limitless capacity, low latency, uncontended access and guaranteed bandwidth, meaning companies in the area will achieve both speed and reliability.

It could therefore allow even relatively small firms to employ technology such as cloud computing, advanced teleconferencing and voice over IP, potentially boosting productivity.

Rob Hamlin, Director of Business Development at CityFibre, said: "We are delighted to extend our Internet Leased Line services to businesses in Bournemouth to enable them to benefit from the most advanced connectivity available in the world."

Its Chief Executive Officer Greg Mesch added: "We are working closely with Bournemouth Borough Council to deliver the connectivity it needs to provide services to the town as efficiently as possible."

The firm already operates the UK's largest fibre-to-the-home network - Gigler - in the town, connecting more than 21,000 homes to superfast broadband.

It is also the largest provider of fibre infrastructure to the UK's second tier cities, with networks in over 50 locations and in excess of 30,000km of fibre in the ground.
