Easynet launches 'pioneering' bonded FTTC broadband service

Tuesday, May 21st 2013 by Paul France
A new fibre broadband service offering speeds of up to 160Mbps has been unveiled by Easynet.

Network, hosting and cloud integration firm Easynet has claimed a UK first by launching a bonded fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) broadband service offering speeds of up to 160Mbps - rising to 320Mbps in the next few months.

Known as EtherStream V, the product is designed to help businesses meet the growing demand for bandwidth that is being driven by the availability of solutions such as the cloud, data centralisation, unified communications and other vital applications.

The service will be rolled out across the UK over the coming year and is expected to be available to approximately 70 per cent of businesses by March 2014.

Simon Hartog of Easynet partner Virtual IT said EtherStream V is "bang on" for customers seeking to take advantage of hosted telephony and videoconferencing, and hybrid cloud services.

Easynet chief technology officer Justin Fielder added: "EtherStream V has a well-deserved place in the Easynet hall of fame for industry firsts and reinforces our reputation as an industry pioneer."
