EE unveils Bright Box 2 fibre broadband router

The new Bright Box 2 router from EE is designed specifically for super-fast broadband users.

EE is set to launch a new wireless router specifically for its fibre optic broadband customers.

The Bright Box 2 is due to hit the market later this summer and is designed to offer stronger wireless signal, simple plug-and-play setup and less of a speed reduction when users move further from the device.

It boasts AC Wi-Fi technology, which also features in new high-end smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy S4, so customers can look forward to receiving the best possible connection whether they are at home or out and about.

According to EE, the plug-and-play functionality is a first for a UK fibre optic broadband service. This setting means customers can get online as soon as possible, without requiring a callout from an engineer.

The forthcoming router is part of a raft of new products and services to be introduced by EE over the coming weeks as it aims to ensure customers take full advantage of its super-fast mobile and fibre broadband networks.

Others include shared 4G mobile plans, pay-as-you-go 4G mobile broadband and a mobile payment service called Cash on Tap.
