Homes and businesses in Falkirk are to benefit from improved broadband services in the coming weeks.

The communities of Bonnybridge and Denny in Falkirk are to benefit from the rollout of enhanced broadband connectivity in the coming weeks.

A major investment in next-generation broadband services is in the process of being carried out in the area, with up to 8,500 homes and businesses expected to benefit from increased transfer rates when the work is completed, the Falkirk Herald reports.

Work in the area is being carried out by communications network provider BT.

Leader of Falkirk Council councillor Craig Martin stated: "Superfast fibre broadband in Bonnybridge and Denny offers huge benefits to local residents and businesses and will help our local economy to flourish.

"Better, faster communications help businesses to grow and stimulate job creation."

He added that the arrival of fibre connectivity will enable local businesses to better embrace online services, as well as providing faster speeds for homes across the county.
