Fibre broadband for Wolverhampton and Willenhall

Friday, January 25th 2013 by Paul France
Wolverhampton and Willenhall are the latest locations to benefit from super-fast broadband.

Network operator BT has announced that super-fast fibre broadband has gone live in Wolverhampton and Willenhall.

More than 21,000 homes and businesses operating in the two locations are expected to be able to benefit from the rollout.

This forms part of a wider, £2.5 billion project that BT is undertaking to bring superior internet connectivity to as many parts of the UK as possible.

Councillor Peter Bilson, cabinet member for economic regeneration and prosperity at Wolverhampton City Council, welcomed the development, describing it as excellent news for the city as a whole.

"High-speed digital connectivity will provide a host of benefits to people who surf the internet in their homes, enabling them to access a range of services and new ways of working," he commented.

Mr Bilson also noted that businesses will be able to expand the ways in which they offer their products and services to customers as a result of the upgrade.
