Fibre optic specialist Phoenix Photonics relocates to Kent

Thursday, November 8th 2012 by Miles Northrop
Phoenix Photonics has moved to a new larger headquarters in Kent.

A company specialising in components used to deliver fibre optic broadband services has relocated to larger premises in Kent as its business blossoms.

Phoenix Photonics has moved to the new site near Canterbury, where it will have the additional space required to boost its sales and marketing, production and research and development activities.

To support the expansion, the company has also begun a recruitment drive.

Dr Ian Giles, chief executive of Phoenix Photonics, said the company is currently going through "a very exciting time".

"The move is a key milestone in our growth strategy which we initiated three years ago and we are very pleased that we are embarking on this phase of the plan to schedule," he added.

Phoenix's relocation comes shortly after the firm enjoyed a successful appearance at Ecoc 2012, which is Europe's largest optical communications event.

At the exhibition, the company launched two new products - a programmable polarisation control instrument and an associated polarisation controller microprocessor interface.
