Financial businesses should consider cable broadband, says expert

Enterprises that rely heavily on quick internet access should invest in fibre optic broadband, according to one commentator.

Businesses that rely on a speedy internet connection for their operations could do well to find out whether a high-speed fibre optic broadband connection would be a good investment.

That is the advice from Michael Crane, editor of Network Communications News magazine, who said financial institutions could be one group for which cable broadband would be ideal.

"As the demand for ever-more bandwidth and higher speeds continues to grow at a rapid pace, the latest fibre cables will be more important than ever," he added.

Enterprises considering their options should contact an installer or provider to discover the option that is most appropriate for their needs.

Meanwhile, customers and businesses not happy with their current provider have been urged to switch to an alternative connection.

Consumer watchdog organisation Which? recently revealed eight out of ten respondents to a survey had found it easy to change broadband providers and some found a cheaper package as a result.
