Improved broadband access has been delivered in the town of Tenbury Wells.

The residents of Tenbury Wells are to benefit from new superfast broadband connections following the completion of an ambitious project in the area to boost transfer rates.

Worcester News reports work to install eight new fibre roadside cabinets has now been completed in the area, with the project being completed around an ongoing regeneration project for the town centre.

Councillor Simon Geraghty, Worcestershire County Council Cabinet Member for Economy, Skills and Infrastructure, said: "It was great to see all the partners working together so that this work could be completed.

"We can now continue with our plans to deliver high-speed fibre broadband to Tenbury."

The project was completed as part of the Superfast Worcestershire scheme - a partnership between Worcestershire County Council, BT and the government's Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) initiative.

More than 2,000 properties will now receive improved access to superfast connectivity as a result of this latest phase of work in the area.
