Bromsgrove and Droitwich communities are among the next to be connected to fibre broadband.

Superfast Worcestershire, a regional rollout programme that aims to bring fibre broadband connections to communities in the Midlands, has announced the names of the next areas to gain access to the high-speed service.

Bromsgrove and Droitwich are next in line to get fibre broadband, with residents and businesses in Belbroughton, Cutnall Green, Ombersley and Chaddesley Corbett first in the queue.

Superfast Worcestershire is working in partnership with BT to bring the service to the areas and has recently invested a further £20 million in its campaign.

Mike Cook, BT Regional Director for the West Midlands, said: "We're committed to connecting communities as quickly as possible whilst of course planning carefully to ensure we deliver the best value for money as part of our investment."

It is hoped that over 90 per cent of homes and businesses in the Worcestershire area will gain access to fibre optic broadband over the next three years.
