MP Kate Green has called for superfast broadband to come to businesses in Trafford Park.

Kate Green, MP for the Greater Manchester communities of Stretford and Urmston, has called on the government to ensure all businesses based in the city's Trafford Park area are connected to superfast fibre optic broadband by 2016.

A rollout programme is in place to bring the high-speed service to 39,000 residences and businesses in Greater Manchester over the next two years, with Ms Green believing this will be vital for local organisations to progress.

She said: "Fast, reliable broadband is crucial for our local businesses and so I was pleased when the minister promised that this would be delivered on time."

Last week, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries Ed Vaizey promised Ms Green that the rollout programme is on track to deliver superfast fibre broadband to the area on time.

Ms Green added that she would continue to act as a voice for Trafford Park businesses if the government falls behind schedule with regard to the rollout or fails to keep its promise.
