BT has announced the launch of its super-fast fibre broadband scheme in Ewell, Surrey.

BT has announced the launch of its next generation broadband service in Ewell, Surrey, with over 11,000 homeowners and businesses poised to take advantage of the deal once it is fully integrated.

Epsom and Ewell MP Chris Grayling has welcomed the news that both FTTC and FTTP technologies are set to be rolled out in Ewell, noting that the investment could make a big difference to start-up companies and other small firms.

"This is an area where there are a large number of new small businesses and the arrival of super-fast broadband in Ewell will be a huge help to them," said Mr Grayling.

He added that local residents would also see benefits from the fibre optic broadband network from BT.

The company plans to extend its network to over 125,000 households in Surrey over the course of 2012.

Lancaster was also given a broadband investment boost recently when BT announced that 21,000 properties in the county will now be able to access super-fast internet.
