Superfast fibre broadband arrives in Lyme Regis

Thursday, March 6th 2014 by Editorial
High-speed fibre broadband has arrived in Lyme Regis.

The majority of residents in Lyme Regis will soon be able to enjoy the benefits of being connected to superfast fibre optic broadband, after the service arrived in the town earlier this week.

A roadside cabinet has been placed at a junction in the town, with BT planning to install five additional boxes later this month as part of its nationwide roll-out programme.

It is hoped that by the start of May 2014, all residences and businesses in the area will be able to access high-speed fibre broadband should they wish to.

Most Lyme Regis residents will have access to the service by the summer, although one cabinet is not due to be upgraded until September, so some will have to wait until the autumn.

Once the service has been rolled out across the area, it is hoped that homes and businesses in Lyme Regis will immediately see the benefits of quicker connection times, faster loading pages and the ability to get more from their internet experience.
