A Local Enterprise Partnership will look at how businesses would benefit from a high-speed internet connection.

Businesses operating in Torbay have been quizzed on how they would use a cable broadband connection if one were available in the area.

Experts from the Local Enterprise Partnership in Plymouth, Devon and Somerset are looking at the possibility of a rollout at some time in the future, the Herald Express reports.

"We need to know how businesses would use fast broadband in their day-to-day work," explained Alan Denby, from the Torbay Development Agency.

He added that the information would help create a case to present to BT, with a view to delivering a better connection to enterprises in the area.

Meanwhile, companies operating out of Pury Hill Business Park in Northamptonshire might soon be making use of a high-speed cable broadband connection at their premises.

The owners of the park have installed a 1Gbps cable that enterprises can rent capacity from and boost their connection without losing bandwidth at peak times.
