York broadband sessions to boost SME uptake

The benefits of superfast broadband are being highlighted to businesses in York.

Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in York are set to benefit from a range of free events to highlight the advantages they could levy when signing up to superfast broadband services in their area.

Events are scheduled for 13th, 14th, 20th and 22nd of January at venues across the city, Business Quarter reports.

They will see SME owners given more information on how superfast services could help streamline company practices, as well as giving details on how to access grants of up to £3,000 to gain access to improved connectivity in their area.

Leader of City of York Council Dafydd Williams commented: "The free events are a great opportunity for businesses and registered charities to find out about York's digital progression and how they can benefit."

The city is set to benefit from a considerable investment to boost broadband rollout as part of the SuperConnected Cities Programme fund from the Department for Culture Media and Sport.
