SureStream (A) offers download speeds of up to 60Mbps.

Business internet service provider (ISP) Easynet Connect has announced the launch of its fibre optic broadband speed SureStream (A) service.

The company claimed the technology is available to more than eight in ten UK firms and offers maximum download rates of 60Mbps, along with top upload speeds of 4Mbps.

Neil Gallagher, sales director at Easynet, explained the product has been developed to address the rising demand from customers for increased bandwidth.

This has been driven by the increased uptake of web-based applications such as cloud computing, as well as high-volume downloads, he stated.

"We are pleased to be able to offer another solution which provides high-quality broadband access and sure-fire resiliency achieved by using the best business class Cisco routers," Mr Gallagher added.

Earlier this year, the ISP rolled out its up to 100Mbps fibre broadband service to businesses outside central London for the first time.

From February, the technology has been available to firms in and around the Croydon, Reading and Slough areas.
