Hyperoptic names Darren Shenkin as products and propositions chief

Thursday, March 21st 2013 by Nigel Adie
Darren Shenkin has been named as Hyperoptic's new products and propositions director.

Ultra-fast fibre optic broadband provider Hyperoptic has appointed Darren Shenkin to the role of director of products and propositions.

Mr Shenkin makes the move to Hyperoptic after spending time as head of TV at Plusnet and, previously, as BT Vision's head of propositions. While he was with BT, the telecoms giant's Vision service was the country's fastest-growing television platform for five quarters.

His role at Hyperoptic will involve enhancing and developing the products offered by the internet service provider, which already delivers symmetrical speeds of up to 1Gbps to consumers.

In addition, he has been given responsibility for raising awareness among customers of the company's range of products as it continues to boost its fibre-to-the-home proposition.

Dana Tobak, Hyperoptic's managing director, said the provider is "thrilled" to have appointed someone with Mr Shenkin's level of industry knowledge.

"His experience and insight into this sector will be invaluable to help us shake up the broadband sector with some disruptive and different approaches," she added.
