Intercity extends fibre optic broadband coverage

The company has brought its Ethernet Fibre solution to 50,000 new and existing customers.

Intercity has announced it is collaborating with several UK carriers to increase the coverage of its fibre optic broadband service.

The telecoms firm is hoping to capitalise on growing market demand for improved speeds by offering its Ethernet Fibre solution to 50,000 new customers and existing subscribers.

Ethernet Fibre provides a business broadband line that is uncontended, meaning companies that sign up for the package are guaranteed the bandwidth they purchase as they will not need to share the connection with other users.

According to Intercity, businesses are taking advantage of the internet more often and are consequently becoming ever more reliant on secure, reliable and fast fibre broadband.

Dave Reynolds, the firm's pre-sales expert, said: "Our Ethernet Fibre service gives businesses across the UK an opportunity to increase connection speeds, boost reliability and utilise additional hosted products."

Intercity was founded in 1985 and has grown to become the largest independent mobile phone service provider in the country, as well as offering fixed-line products.
