Customers can now sign up for TalkTalk's up to 80Mbps super-fast broadband service.

TalkTalk has become the latest internet service provider (ISP) to announce the commercial launch of an up to 80Mbps fibre optic broadband product.

Available now, the service allows customers to download a music album in around ten seconds, a TV show in about 30 seconds and a feature-length movie in approximately two minutes.

The broadband package also offers fast downstream rates of up to 20Mbps, which TalkTalk's trading director Charlotte Maxwell described as "unbeatable".

"This will cut down the time it takes to upload a photo album ... making it great for those of you who like to share videos and photos with friends and family," she wrote on the official TalkTalk blog.

An up to 40Mbps fibre optic broadband product is also offered by the ISP.

When TalkTalk unveiled the 80Mbps product last month, commercial director Tristia Clarke said internet TV, high-definition streaming and other services are increasing consumer demand for super-fast broadband connectivity.
