A new partnership to bring better broadband connectivity to Sutton Coldfield has been announced.

Improved access to superfast broadband services has been delivered for Sutton Coldfield firms following the announcement of a new partnership between BT and Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID).

Engineering work has now been completed on the installation of more than 60 metres of fibre optic cabling in the area, which will now benefit dozens of town centre businesses and residents in the years ahead, Sutton Coldfield Local reports.

Download speeds of up to 80 Mbps and upload rates of 20 Mbps are being provided through the new broadband network, with the work having been joint funded by Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID and BT's local business partner, Openreach.

Ian Binks, BT Regional Manager for Sutton Coldfield and the West Midlands, told the local publication: "Increasingly, the internet is impacting on every aspect of our lives - at work and at home - that's why making faster fibre broadband available through this partnership is so important."
