BT Openreach to roll out fibre voice access for FTTP services

BT Openreach is to carry out an early market deployment launch of fibre voice access for FTTP services in Bradwell Abbey and Highams Park.

BT Openreach has announced the introduction of an early market deployment launch of a new fibre voice access over fibre to the premises (FVA-FTTP) product this month.

The new FVA-FTTP offering is initially available to order in Bradwell Abbey and Highams Park as of March 1st 2012, with the service to be extended to further exchanges where FTTP broadband provision is available.

FVA-FTTP allows communications providers to deliver voice services via a dedicated path to an analogue terminal adaptor for a relatively affordable price, while also offering ease of maintenance.

Other advantages of the technology include its rapid installation times, customisation options and its ability to be bundled with data packages.

BT Openreach is making the new product available to all registered content providers located in the relevant geographic areas with backhaul connectivity to a Generic Ethernet Access Cablelink.

"The launch is an early market deployment, meaning that we won't provide guaranteed service levels for FVA-FTTP until we have had an opportunity to further analyse our early deployment of service," added the provider.
