BT sees strong fibre broadband uptake in Eversley

Thursday, January 31st 2013 by Miles Northrop
Demand for super-fast broadband in Eversley has been high.

Uptake of fibre optic broadband in the Eversley area of Hampshire has been relatively strong to date, BT has announced.

The telecoms giant rolled out super-fast broadband in the nearby village of Finchampstead last year, bringing speeds of 32Mbps to local homes and businesses, reports Get Surrey.

A BT spokeswoman said the service has so far been "adopted well" in the area as the potential of next-generation broadband is increasingly recognised by local residents.

"I can confirm we are expanding the capacity of our fibre broadband in the Eversley area," she added.

Her comments come in response to a campaign from Wokingham Chamber of Commerce Council member Michael Noak, who wants to hear from fellow residents struggling to receive a fast and reliable broadband service.

Mr Noak is eager to hear from consumers living near Inchcape Ford in Finchampstead Road, as well as those in Hollybush Ride on the edge of Wokingham and Crowthorne.

"Wokingham deserves better broadband that it has," he remarked.
