BT ultra-fast fibre broadband rollout welcomed in Saltney

Saltney business Parkway Telecom has hailed BT's rollout of 110Mbps fibre broadband.

A Saltney-based telecoms firm has praised BT's decision to roll out ultra-fast up to 110Mbps fibre optic broadband to the small north Wales town.

BT announced this month that homes and businesses in Saltney will get access to the service by the end of October thanks to its upgrade of the South Chester exchange.

The Ashford in Middlesex, Bradwell Abbey in Milton Keynes, Highams Park in north London, St Austell and York exchanges have also been included in the infrastructure improvement programme.

Paul Maddocks, group managing director for Saltney-based firm Parkway Telecom, told the Flintshire Chronicle that several local companies have campaigned for faster broadband via the county council's CH4 Business Club initiative.

He said Parkway Telecom is "delighted" to have played its part in delivering improved speeds to the town and said he is looking forward to benefiting from the technology.

"It is to the advantage of the local consumer BT has decided to deliver ultra-fast broadband to Saltney," Mr Maddocks added.
