Capital opens fibre broadband-enabled offices

Tuesday, July 30th 2013 by Paul France
Offices equipped with fibre broadband are being rented out to people that need them in London.

Small businesses and homeworkers in London could benefit from a new venture rolled out by one company in the city that offers fibre broadband-enabled offices.

Capital Office is providing workspaces that can be rented by organisations of all sizes, even if they are only required for an hour.

The offices have fibre optic broadband fitted as standard so that anyone who uses them can carry out telecommuting with clients, send large volumes of documents and complete other tasks that require large bandwidths and high speeds.

Furthermore, users can access telephone answering and mail forwarding services when they are not in the new workspaces, giving their clients the impression that they own top-class offices without any of the associated overheads.

"Many successful businesses are run from home with staff telecommuting, but in order to land big business appearances have to be maintained. We allow businesses to minimise fixed costs while maintaining a big brand perception," said a spokesperson for Capital Office.

According to recent figures from the Trades Union Congress, the number of people who usually work from home increased by 13 per cent across Britain and 14 per cent in London alone between 2007 and 2012, so this initiative could prove very popular.
