The service is now available in Croydon, Reading and Slough.

Easynet Connect has announced the launch of its fibre optic business broadband product outside central London.

The infrastructure development will bring speeds of up to 100Mbps to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in and around the towns of Croydon, Reading and Slough.

Some £400 million has been invested in the technology by the internet service provider since it launched in the capital in January 2010.

Neil Gallagher, sales director at Easynet Connect, described smaller businesses as the "lifeblood of our economy" and stressed it is important for them to be able to access the same quality of fibre optic broadband as their larger peers.

"Our fibre offering gives SMEs the opportunity to take advantage of high-speed access to cloud computing services and customer relationship management systems without jeopardising the performance of the network," he added.

Easynet Connect claims to have the second largest fibre network in the UK, with 6,030 km of fibre and last-mile access.
