Hyperoptic will give one student an opportunity to pick up vital business experience as part of LifeSkills Work Week.

Fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) broadband provider Hyperoptic is taking part in a new scheme designed to help school leavers make the transition to the workplace.

LifeSkills Work Week, created with Barclays, will see the company offer one student the opportunity to discover more about cutting-edge broadband technology and pick up the vital skills needed to boost their career prospects.

The youngster's experiences will be shared with the nation as part of the campaign, with near-real-time clips set to be broadcast on ITV1, thanks to a partnership with ITN.

A short video diary will be produced each day and screened during the News at Ten, giving viewers an insight into the training programme and Hyperoptic's operations.

Dana Tobak, Managing Director at Hyperoptic, said growth in the technology sector will create new work opportunities for school and university graduates.

"The importance of next-generation talents to the future of the UK cannot be understated and we are absolutely thrilled to play a small part in supporting the ideals of the LifeSkills programme," she added.
