NextGenUs hits out at BT and BDUK over rural broadband

Guy Jarvis of NextGenUs has said rural residents are fed up with waiting for faster broadband.

Fibre optic broadband provider NextGenUs has claimed rural residents are tired of waiting for BT to supply them with faster internet access.

Writing on his official blog, NextGenUs managing director Guy Jarvis claimed the time is right for the "mass uptake" of super-fast broadband across the UK, with the subject gaining "significant" momentum.

However, Mr Jarvis insisted rural householders have "simply had enough" of relying on BT and government body Broadband Delivery UK (BDUK) to provide them with enhanced connectivity.

He went on to restate the commitment from NextGenUs to extend its fibre optic broadband and Wi-Fi footprint across the country.

"NextGenUs is seeking to establish pioneering exemplar networks in every county across the UK," Mr Jarvis remarked.

Last month, the internet service provider announced plans to deploy its FiWi super-fast broadband infrastructure in the rural village of Roos, East Yorkshire.

Internet users in the area will be able to receive speeds of between 10 and 60Mbps when the work is finished.
