Stoke Row fibre optic boost

A major boost to broadband access has taken place in Stoke Row.

Residents of the village of Stoke Row in Oxfordshire are soon to benefit from improved access to superfast broadband after a new fibre optic cabinet was installed in the area.

Improved broadband connectivity is being delivered as part of the ongoing Better Broadband for Oxfordshire Project, the Henley Standard reports.

This £65 million initiative aims to provide superfast access to more than 64,000 homes and businesses across the county by the end of next year and the delivery of this new cabinet has been hailed as fantastic news by locals.

Local resident Tracy Westall-Reece told the news provider: "The sooner we get superfast broadband the better. It's something that house-buyers are factoring in when they look at properties in the village."

Meanwhile, business owner John Barrett, who runs Stoke Row Garage, said: "We're getting desperate. The best speed I've had in five years is 2.5 Mbps."

Set to go live in the coming months, new superfast connections are expected to benefit up to 700 properties in the area.
