A major investment in superfast broadband is delivering benefits to the St Andrews community.

Businesses in St Andrews, Scotland are benefiting from improved access to superfast broadband in their area following a £410 million investment in improved connectivity for the town.

BT's Openreach division has now completed installation works for high-speed internet in the area, bringing the total number of homes and businesses capable of joining the superfast broadband revolution in St Andrews and its surrounding communities to more than 150,000.

Patrick MacEwen, IT Systems Manager for local gift shop business Bonkers, highlighted the benefits to his businesses as a result of this significant investment.

"It is making it so much faster and easier to transfer data between our two stores and our head office in St Andrews and is speeding up communications with our online store," he commented.

Mr MacEwan added that superfast internet has literally transformed a number of the retailer's operations and is now helping the company to go from strength to strength.
