Unhappy consumers urged to switch broadband providers

Broadband customers could receive a better service if they switched providers, according to Which?.

Customers who are unhappy with their cable broadband provider should consider switching.

That is the advice from consumer watchdog Which? after it found some people were not satisfied with their existing connection.

"It could get you a better service and save you money and eight out of ten people in our survey who'd switched recently said they found it easy," the organisation states.

Value for money, ease of setup, customer service, reliability and levels of phone support were all judged when Which? carried out the study during November and December 2010.

Virgin Media was recently praised for its decision to bring 100 Mbps fibre optic broadband to Hinckley.

Bosworth MP David Tredinnick welcomed the move and said it demonstrates the "confidence" the provider has in the Midlands town.

He went on to say that a rollout is "very good news" for businesses and residents of the area, the Hinckley Times reports.
