Transmode will provide important infrastructure for a Hull fibre broadband network.

Fibre optic broadband operator MS3 has chosen Transmode to supply it with packet optical networks for its new business-focused internet service in Hull.

MS3's network team awarded Transmode the contract as they seek to ensure the maximum possible capacity for the city.

Transmode's TM-Series optical networking system will allow the network operator to provide businesses in the area with a wide range of communications services, including ten gigabit Ethernet and internet products.

The planned network is currently in the process of being built, although MS3 has already completed the first phase, which is now operational.

Managing director of MS3 Tony Hales said the optical network will allow the company to deliver a wide range of communications solutions to local firms and service providers.

"As an independent provider, we believe it is essential for businesses to have access to high-speed Ethernet services," he commented.

Bjorn Andersson, Transmode's vice president of sales, added: "This project demonstrates our ability to meet strict technical design criteria and deliver cost-effective solutions."
