EE confirms fibre optic broadband plans

Thursday, October 25th 2012 by Paul France
Fibre broadband will be available from EE later this month.

Everything Everywhere has confirmed its fibre optic broadband service will launch at the end of the month, offering super-fast speeds to consumers and businesses.

The network operator's new brand EE will deliver the next-generation broadband proposition, which is set to hit the market next Tuesday (October 30th 2012).

According to the communications giant, the fibre broadband service will provide speeds that are typically around ten times faster than the average internet connection.

The packages will offer downstream rates of up to 76Mbps, with EE insisting they will be perfect for households or small businesses looking to connect to the web via multiple devices.

Customers can look forward to taking advantage of bandwidth-heavy services such as high-definition TV streaming and online gaming, the company explained.

Olaf Swantee, chief executive of EE, said the new fibre optic broadband product will see the operator "deliver consumers and businesses across the country next-generation services and a superior level of support".
