Faster broadband for Measham residents

Tuesday, April 7th 2015 by Editorial
The Leicestershire village of Measham is to benefit from improved broadband connectivity.

Measham has been announced as the next community to benefit from its inclusion in the Superfast Leicestershire scheme.

The Burton Mail reports the village has been included in the £18.8 million project that is being funded by Leicestershire County Council and will likely see full-scale broadband access for residents delivered by the end of the year.

Upgrades to local broadband infrastructure will now include the installation of new fibre optic cabling and roadside cabinets, which will enable households to better utilise entertainment and online services via faster connections of up to 24 Mbps.

The benefits of high-speed broadband are well known and the news has therefore been wholeheartedly welcomed by local residents.

It is a step forward in terms of broadband access for the county as a whole, with the Superfast Leicestershire programme hoping to deliver improvements in terms of faster connectivity for as many people as possible in the years ahead.
