The vast majority of Zen Internet's fibre broadband subscribers would recommend the service.

More than nine in ten customers of Zen Internet's fibre optic broadband product would recommend the service to their friends and family members, the provider has revealed.

Research conducted by the telecoms firm found 94 per cent of subscribers to its super-fast package, which offers speeds of up to 40Mbps, displayed high levels of satisfaction.

Furthermore, 85 per cent of all Zen customers said the download and upload capabilities they receive are better than they expected.

Commenting on the results, head of product management and marketing Andrew Saunders said: "We see super-fast fibre broadband as the key enabling technology for a whole range of business internet services."

Zen is one of the few internet service providers chosen by BT to take part in its trial of fibre to the home (FTTH), a form of technology that can offer speeds of up to 100Mbps to business and residential subscribers.

In March, BT revealed it is planning to roll out FTTH to approximately 270,000 premises across the country by September.
