Gigaclear to roll out Appleton with Eaton fibre broadband network

Appleton with Eaton has chosen Gigaclear to deploy a new fibre broadband network.

Gigaclear has been chosen to deliver a new ultra-fast fibre optic broadband service in the Oxfordshire parish of Appleton with Eaton.

The pure fibre optic network will offer speeds of up to 1,000Mbps to the 400 homes and businesses in the community, with more than one-quarter of local properties already committed to signing up for the service.

As standard, the product will feature minimum speeds of 10Mbps, with the option to increase up to 1,000Mbps when required.

Construction of the network is set to get underway in July and the first customers are due to be connected the following month.

David Hine of Appleton Broadband Group said: "We are very excited about this service, as for the first time ever we will have broadband that will be the envy of major cities."

Last September, Gigaclear began the groundwork on building a fibre optic broadband network in the Rutland village of Hambleton.

Local customers were hooked up to the service in early October and the rollout was finished later that month.
