Fibre broadband boost for Truro hotel

A Truro hotel has been enjoying the benefits of superfast fibre broadband.

Alverton Manor, a hotel based in Truro, has been enjoying the benefits of superfast fibre broadband since gaining a connection to the high-speed technology.

Director of the business Aaron Pascoe said the hotel has seen a boost in trade following the installation of the superfast service, with guests being able to enhance their experience.

High-speed fibre broadband has been delivered to Alverton Manor as part of the Superfast Cornwall rollout programme, which is supported by BT, the European Union and Cornwall Council.

The hotel's Director said guests have been able to watch services such as Netflix while staying at the venue, order food online, check their emails and take part in business meetings using Skype thanks to the arrival of fibre broadband.

Mr Pascoe added: "Superfast broadband is allowing us to provide a better experience to our guests and helping us attract visitors to Truro.

"I would urge any businesses in the Truro area that have not yet connected to superfast broadband to do so as soon as possible."

Around 24 per cent of residential and commercial properties in Truro now have access to the high-speed technology, with 95 per cent expected to be connected by the end of the year.
