More east Yorkshire communities are set to gain fibre broadband access from KC.

Homes and businesses in the Grovehill area of Beverley, east Yorkshire are the next in line to gain access to KC's fibre optic broadband service.

The telecoms firm has unveiled the latest communities to be included in its extensive super-fast broadband rollout programme, which will see the technology delivered to a total of 15,000 properties on the KC network.

Customer installations in Grovehill are due to get underway on February 6th 2012, followed by further deployments in the Beverley communities of Grange Way, Lockwood Road, Butt Lane, Old Manor Lawns, Lincoln Way, Poplars Way and Norwood.

KC chief executive Kevin Walsh hailed its investment as the start of "something very special" for east Yorkshire, describing fibre broadband as "a catalyst for change that has the potential to transform the region's fortunes and make us an attractive location".

Previous locations to benefit from the rollout include five high rise tower blocks on the Great Thornton Street estate in Hull.
